Crime Free Multi Housing (CFMH)

Crime Free Multi Housing is a three-phase program available to owners/managers of rental property.  The purpose of the program is to foster healthy and safe neighborhoods through landlord involvement to reduce illegal activity on their property. This program is designed to help tenants, owners and managers of rental property keep drugs and other illegal activity off their property.  The Omaha Police Department has been using this honest, direct and solution-oriented program in Omaha since 1997.

The Business Watch Squad presents a CFMH class for the rental property owners/managers.  The attendees may then participate in a CPTED audit of their rental property and then become part of a Neighborhood Watch or Apartment Watch Group.  After a property is fully certified, management must host one safety-related crime prevention meeting yearly with the residents to renew their membership in the program.
